CBAM Training & Capacity Building
The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism introduces new obligations for importers and suppliers. Our training sessions explain the regulation and focus on how companies should apply the requirements in their operations.
Bespoke Training
This training is designed specifically for each company and tailored to its role within the CBAM supply chain. The sessions focus on the practical responsibilities the organisation faces under the regulation and reflect its operational context, supply chain structure, and reporting requirements.
For EU importers, sessions typically cover:
- CBAM certificate mechanisms
- Use of the CBAM registry
- CBAM reporting requirements
- Authorised CBAM Declarant applications
For non-EU suppliers, training focuses on:
- Calculating embedded emissions
- Collecting production data according to EU rules
- Using the EU Excel Communication Template to share emissions data with EU customers
Theoretical Training
A high-level overview of CBAM designed for management or compliance teams. Topics include the purpose of the regulation, implementation timelines, product scope, and responsibilities for importers and suppliers.
CBAM Reporting Management
During the CBAM transitional period, companies importing goods within the scope of the regulation were required to submit quarterly emissions reports.
Carbon Complete assists businesses in organising emissions data, preparing CBAM reports, and managing submissions through the CBAM registry.
Although the transitional reporting period ended in Q4 2025, the European Commission and national authorities recommend that companies continue preparing CBAM reports internally to maintain structured emissions data and prepare for the financial phase of the mechanism.
Authorised CBAM Declarant Application
Companies importing CBAM-covered goods into the European Union must hold the status of Authorised CBAM Declarant.
Carbon Complete supports companies throughout the application process, including identifying the required documentation, preparing the submission, and ensuring that the application meets the requirements established by the European Commission.
This helps reduce delays and ensures companies can continue importing CBAM goods without disruption.
CBAM Certificates Cost Forecasting
From 2026, companies importing CBAM goods must purchase and surrender CBAM certificates, whose price is linked to the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS).
Carbon Complete provides cost forecasting to help companies understand the potential financial impact of CBAM on their imports. These projections consider embedded emissions, default emission values, EU benchmarks, and carbon prices.
The objective is to help companies anticipate future carbon costs and support financial planning.
Risk Assessment & Advisory Services
CBAM costs depend heavily on supply chains, emissions intensity, and product classification.
Our risk assessments review supply-chain structure, commodity code classification, emissions exposure, and compliance risks. Where relevant, we also identify potential grants or funding programmes that may support emissions reduction or sustainability improvements.
Software Management System
Managing CBAM data through spreadsheets can become complex as supplier networks grow.
Carbon Complete works with Dubrink, a CBAM management platform designed to organise supplier emissions data, calculate embedded emissions, and generate compliant reports.
We can manage the platform on behalf of companies or support integration into existing ERP or supply-chain systems.
Indirect Representation
Companies without Authorised CBAM Declarant status may still need to import CBAM goods into the EU.
Through our partner company Customs Complete, we can provide indirect representation, ensuring imports can continue while meeting customs and CBAM compliance requirements.
Complete Customs & CBAM Package
In collaboration with Customs Complete, we offer a combined service that integrates customs clearance with CBAM management.
This service can include:
- Supplier emissions data collection
- CBAM reporting and certificate management
- Alignment between customs declarations and CBAM submissions
- Coordination between customs clearance and CBAM compliance requirements
By managing these processes together, companies can reduce administrative work while ensuring that the data used for customs declarations and CBAM reporting remains consistent.
Energy Audits
Energy consumption directly affects both operational costs and carbon emissions.
Carbon Complete provides energy audits for industrial and commercial facilities to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing emissions.
In Ireland, these audits may qualify for partial funding through the SEAI grant programme.
If your company imports CBAM-covered goods or works with affected suppliers, at Carbon Complete we help you understand your obligations and prepare for current and upcoming requirements.
